ACT-To-Outlook Professional Advanced Edition With Synchronization for ACT! 2007/2008
- Releases and Patches
June 16, 2008: Release 11.7.x.03 - Minor Upgrade

Release Goal
To improve integration with PDA devices such as Blackberry's, Apple iPhones, etc.. Basically, some of the subject lines on the tasks lists were not up to PDA simplicity so we made them better. Also, you can now edit the notes marker so that notes can come back to ACT! from the PDA via Outlook.

Fixed Issues

  • No bugs have been reported for this software in the past 45 days!!! Quite amazing! And we have found none to speak of.

Improvements

  • Better PDA specific synchronization of notes so that they are more legible and simpler.

Fixed Issues

  • One major issue was contact deletion when doing a process ALL contacts. The intelligent updater disabled contact deletion. That now works very well.
  • Added non-Mapi contact processing for sites that have exchange with a non-mapi compliant interface (like BES)

When you install the new version, make sure you reboot your machine so that the background processor gets started.

March 28, 2008: Release 11.5.x.00 - Major Upgrade

Release Goal
The goal of this release is to provide an update to the Advanced Edition that makes subsequent updating of contacts and activities super fast. In the process of this development, we had to re-write how contacts are selected and processed. To our amazement, the rewrite boosted the speed of subsequent synchronizations many orders of magnitude i.e. from 20 minutes down to 15 seconds. . Actually, it has become so fast that we had to add informational statements to make sure that everything was being processed. To our amazement, everything works just fine.

Fixed Issues

  • Duplicate Checking. When converting to a populated Outlook Contact folder, the duplicate checking on first/last names was not working too well. It works great now!
  • Contacts with empty name/company would generate an indexing error. This has now been fixed

Improvements

  • Added another option to the contacts filter to only synchronize Calendar and Tasks.
  • Major Improvement. Added Intelligent Updater to sync of ALL Contacts and to the Activities Sync. Once the first sync is run, all subsequent syncs use the intelligent updater. To our amazement, it  reduces sync times down to a matter of seconds. In our internal tests, synchronization of 13000 contacts and 4000 activities was clocked at 24 seconds!

February 5, 2008: Release 11.4.x.00 - Minor Upgrade

Fixed Issues

  • ACT! Activities with Multiple contacts were not being converted over properly with everyone related to the activities coming over. They work now.
  • ACT! Activities synchronization was improved and works MUCH better.
  • Fixed Journal Conversion for Notes/History associated to multiple contacts. Now all associated contacts come over.
  • Attachments. Major modifications were made in the dealing with attachments for the Contact's body text and the Journal.

Improvements

  • Added the capability for the user to filter out activity synchronization by Date so that old activities are not looked at.
  • Added the capability for the user to filter out History/Notes by date so that old history items can be filtered out.
  • Major Improvement. Modified the way we deal with attachments linked to history/notes. In the past, these items were embedded into the contact body text or Journal. Now, the path is displayed on the body text and a hyperlink is inserted to that you can open the attachment by clicking on the hyperlink. This is a much better way to deal with attachments since only the hyperlink is inserted into the contact's body text or journal which results in much smaller Outlook .pst files. This feature alone is worth purchasing the product.
