Thank you for your order. Please follow the instructions below to get the data to us.

Upload a file for data conversion.

  • For ACT! 2000/6.0/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009 databases: backup the database using the File->Backup feature in ACT! to save the data into a zip file for uploading. If you used a password to secure the database, make sure that you provide us with that password on the form below.

Once you have the zip file, you are ready to upload the database.

This is a 2 step process:

  1. First, you provide us with the database Usernames and Passwords for us to access the data.
  2. Second, upload the file to our web site.

Once the above has been done, we will convert the database and then send you an email with instructions to download the resulting data. Only files with .ZIP or .zip extension are accepted.

While uploading, you will see the "Sending Request to www.ACT-To-Outlook.com" message at the bottom of the browser and when the upload is done, you will be requested to provide the usernames and passwords.

If you have problems uploading, please contact us via the problem report mechanism and we'll provide you support.

Important. Database Preparation Instructions. Please Read below

ACT-To-Outlook.com reserves the right to refuse to perform a conversion of your data. If a conversion is refused, your purchase is automatically refunded to you.

Very, Very Important: You are purchasing a service. The service is for a 1-time conversion of the uploaded database. Additional conversions must be purchased separately. Hence, please follow the directions below:

  • Before you upload your ZIP file, make sure of the following:
    • The ZIP file is the result of a backup from ACT! Do not copy and paste into the zip file, specially with ACT! 2005/2006/2007/2008/2009.
    • The database you are providing us is the one that you want to convert. Once we have converted the database, that's it. Unless we've made some major mistake, consequent conversion will cost you.
    • All usernames and passwords are correct. Test each one of them! Please, do not provide us with incorrect Usernames and/or passwords.
    • Test the zip file (specially for ACT! 2005/2006/2007/2008/2009 Conversions). We get an incredible number of databases that we cannot restore here. Errors from lack of privilege to corrupt database is common. Hence, before you send us the database, do the following:
      • Start ACT!
      • Close any database that you have open.
      • Select File->Restore->Database As option and try to restore the zip file to a local folder. If that works, then the zip file is ready to be uploaded.
      • If you cannot create a zip file that can be restored, the only way for us to convert the data is via remote access where we convert the data on your computer. To do that, you must purchase the Remote Conversion option. To purchase, click here.

Extremely Important: Outlook Calendar and Tasks Alarms: We do not convert the Alarms from ACT! Over to Outlook. This is due to the fact that Outlook hangs while processing all these alarms.

IMPORTANT: Custom Field Mappings
By default, all the standard fields are brought over. However, BCM allows up to 40 Custom Fields to be brought over. Please list here the custom fields that you want to be converted. If you don't have 40 fields, then leave the other fields blank.

The columns mean the following:

  • ACT! Field Name - This is the name of the ACT! Field.
  • Data Type -  This indicates whether the data is a string, date, number or drop-down list (like ID/Status).
    Note on Drop Down Lists: Drop down lists are the unique merge of the drop down list in ACT! AND any value in the field in ACT! that does not exists in the ACT! dropdown list. For example if you have on your dropdown list for ID/Status the value President and you have a field value in ID/Status of Pres., the dropdown list will include President as well as Pres.
  • Destination BCM Screen -  The destination Screen in BCM. We can put it in the General, Details, History, or User Defined fields screen in BCM.

Destination Folder for Attachment Conversions

As part of the conversion, we copy and/or convert all your attachments to a common attachments folder. By default, we use the path below. However, if you want us to use another one, including a network drive, modify the path and provide us with your preferred path:

 

Very Important. The number of users in your database must match the number of users for which you purchased the conversion. Deleting users from your database or providing us with a database with more than the purchased number of users conversion, will incur an additional charge of $495 to the conversion plus any upgrade charges to the correct number of users.  If you are in doubt of the number of users in your database or you cannot fulfill this clause, contact http://www.act-to-bcm.com to resolve this issue.

Note: ACT-To-Outlook.com reserves the right to refuse any current or consequent conversions due to database corruption, invalid user names and passwords, extraneous conversion services, or any other services not covered under the fixed conversion price.
